Antoine Griezmann yesterday announced that he would be leaving Atletico Madrid this window, one of those big money summer moves which is set to knock over all manner of dominoes.

His expected destination is Barcelona, who are going to pay €125 for the Frenchman.

He will be the forward they’re looking for, and will take them out of the race for Luka Jovic of Frankfurt. With them out of the way, and Real Madrid hopefully spending their budget on Eden Hazard and maybe Christian Eriksen, our route to the Serbian looks more clear than ever.

What looked to be an impossible move not long ago suddenly sees us in the Champions League, with Man U out and Spain’s big two committing their budgets to other stars. Jovic is now becoming genuinely attainable, and if our transfer ban is at the very least suspended – which we would expect it to be – we can see us making this move.

Clever, physical and deadly in front of goal, he might just be the player we’ve been looking for.
