Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has revealed his belief that Eden Hazard CAN win the Ballon D’Or at Stamford Bridge.
Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past few months. His own comments have fueled the speculation, and perhaps Florentino Perez’s interest.
Yet, until his contract expires or Chelsea accept a monumental offer from Los Blancos, a Chelsea player he remains.
One of Hazard’s primary motivators to push for a move to La Liga is to win the Ballon D’Or, the most coveted individual prize in football.
Hazard was always viewed to be a future Ballon D’Or winner, but is yet to reach the performance level require to win it. Until now…
Perhaps as a result of Hazard’s performances of late, Sarri believes that his player is capable of achieving that feat as a Chelsea player.
Sarri is quoted by Goal saying:
“I think that he can win everything, including the Ballon d’Or, here without playing in Spain.”
“For example, Chelsea can win the Champions League and Belgium can win the European Championship.”
Let’s hope Hazard listens to Sarri, who’s right in saying he can win the Ballon D’Or here. What’s required to win the award is trophies, and being a Chelsea player guarantees them.
