Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a future at Chelsea, despite Maurizio Sarri only using him scarcely this season.

That’s according to ESPN, who report that the Blues will not allow Loftus-Cheek to leave on a permanent basis. We appear to have learnt from past mistakes, notably Kevin De Bruyne and Mohamed Salah.

Loftus-Cheek is every bit as good at 22-years-old as the aforementioned duo were. In fact, he possesses physical abilities which far surpass the both of them.

His inclusion in Gareth Southgate’s England squad was testament to how highly regarded Loftus-Cheek is. He has a wealth of talent, talent that must not be allowed to go to waste.

ESPN report that Loftus-Cheek could leave Chelsea on loan in January, which looks to be the right decision for all involved.

Loftus-Cheek’s stint with Crystal Palace worked wonders for him, and allowing him to rot away among the Chelsea substitutes would do him no good.

Loftus-Cheek should not be sold. We are optimistic that he has a big future here. However, he must be provided a platform to continue his development.

A temporary exit is the best option for Ruben. There would surely be no shortage of interest in recruiting a player of his quality.
