Eden Hazard has claimed that he will not force Chelsea into selling him – not even to seal his dream move to Real Madrid.
Few within the Chelsea faithful expect Hazard to stay much longer at this point. The way he is currently openly discussing his intention of signing for Real Madrid, there may be no way back for the Belgian at Stamford Bridge.
With his contract running low, Chelsea could be forced into selling him in the summer of 2019. It would be unfortunate to see one of our greatest ever players walk out the door, but Hazard is adamant that we’d part ways on good terms.
Hazard is quoted by Telefoot (via ITV) insinuating that, like in the summer, he would not force a move away from Chelsea. He wants to maintain the respect between the parties:
“Chelsea were clear to me, I could not leave, I accepted it. Leaving or staying, I knew I was going to be happy. I do not regret at all. I will never clash with a club. If I leave Chelsea, I will leave on good terms.”
Only time will tell if Hazard’s words are genuine, or if he’ll follow the example of close friend Thibaut Courtois. We don’t think he has it in him, but you never know nowadays.
