Chelsea remain interested in signing Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, according to reports.
Sandro was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge while Antonio Conte was in charge at Stamford Bridge. Juventus drove up the asking price and the player himself showed little willingness to make the move, thus it never happened.
Chelsea’s reported interest in Sandro may have acted as a wake-up call for Marcos Alonso, who established himself as the best left-back in the Premier League last time around. His inclusion in the PFA Team of the Year was testament to that.

Alonso is still one of our most potent attacking threats under Maurizio Sarri, but that hasn’t prevented us from being re-linked with Sandro. According to Goal (via Calciomercato), both ourselves and PSG are interested in signing the Brazilian.
It would seem like unnecessary expenditure considering how far Alonso has come. It would also further damage Jay Da Silva’s, or any other developing full-back’s, chances of breaking into the Chelsea starting eleven.
