Cesc Fabregas has claimed that Alvaro Morata still has the full backing of the Chelsea dressing room, despite his troubles of late, report Standard Sport.
Morata looks like a shadow of the man who scored seven goals in his first seven games for Chelsea last season. Whether it be due to his poor goal-scoring form, or the injury issues he suffered after the turn of the year, he appears completely devoid of confidence.
As with Fernando Torres years ago, you get the feeling that all he needed is for the ball to bounce in off his back-side in order for him to rediscover his goal-scoring touch. Morata did find the net against MOL Vidi midweek, only time will tell if that’ll open the floodgates.

Though patience among the Chelsea faithful is likely wearing thin with Morata, who has scored just twice in ten appearances this season, the dressing room remains confident that Morata is capable of leading the line for a club with our ambitions.
That’s according to Cesc Fabregas, who is quoted by Standard Sport saying:
“We believe in him, we believe in everyone. Definitely it’s up to him to keep trying as he’s doing and behaving in the way he does.”
“His attitude is spot on and he always tries his best. We are delighted and hopefully this is the first of many.”
When Morata scored against MOL Vidi, his Chelsea teammates crowded around him to congratulate him. That appears to be a reflection of the team spirit in the camp under Maurizio Sarri. It bodes well.
