Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante will be among the top 20 highest rated players on FIFA 19 Ultimate Team, EA Sports revealed on their website on Tuesday afternoon.
In a season that Chelsea’s performance level dropped considerably, Kante managed to maintain the form that saw him rise from a relatively unknown midfielder to one of the best of his kind on the planet.
He also played a starring role in France’s success at the World Cup in Russia. Les Bleus lifted the trophy for the first time since 1998, with Kante being influential in their triumph.
As a result, he has been handed a rating of 89 by EA, which makes him the 16th best player on the planet in their eyes, just ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane and marginally behind Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Kante’s 87 rated defending is very high for a midfielder. He also has unusually high physical (84) for a player of his size. His pace, being rated at 80, doesn’t exactly flatter him, however.
The Frenchman is renown for his relentless sprinting up and down the pitch. Both Antoine Griezmann and Sergio Aguero have been rated higher in that area, as shown in EA Sports’ ratings reveal. We’d fancy Kante’s chances in a 100 metre sprint against those two.
Regardless, Kante can be delighted to have worked his way into the top 20 highest rated players, especially when you consider he only made his Ligue 1 debut four years ago.
