Chelsea’s interest in signing AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar appears to be genuine, and Antonio Conte could be prepared to sacrifice one of his first-team squad in order to land the Frenchman.
Wednesday’s night win over Huddersfield Town proved that there is still life in the 3-4-3 system. Whether Conte will look to revert back to the strategy that was so successful for us last term remains to be seen, but if he does, there could be a spot in the side crying out for someone like Lemar.
Eden Hazard’s brilliance goes without saying, but neither Pedro nor Willian have been able to permanently nail down a spot in Conte’s starting eleven. One man who could is France international Lemar – and it appears as though Chelsea are interested in securing his signature.
As per the Telegraph, the Blues’ interest in the 22-year-old is so genuine that Conte is willing to part with Michy Batshuayi as part of the deal to sign him. The report claims that Monaco wanted Batshuayi in the summer, but the move never materialised.
Would you give up on Batshuayi so early in his career? Let us know in the comments.
