Former Swansea City assistant coach Claude Makelele is already under pressure at Eupen.

Makelele took charge of Eupen earlier this month, but is drawing criticism for his management methods.

La Dernière Heure launched an editorial yesterday with the title: “Mr. Makelele, you are in Eupen, not in Real”

It stated:

Claude Makelele has probably made a copy and paste of the rules he has known in major clubs. But without taking into account the context of Eupen, it does not make sense. This is even less for a club that suffers from a lack of media coverage and a real image deficit with the general public…

“If he wants to succeed in his delicate rescue mission, Claude Makelele must first understand that he is not at Real Madrid, PSG or Chelsea. He is in Eupen, a team that scored zero goals in 180 minutes under his command and who is last in the Pro League.”
