Paul Pogba believes his Manchester United teammate Romelu Lukaku is the best striker in the Premier League.

After going seven games without scoring, the Belgian broke the streak in United’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Saturday.

He is now joint second on the goalscoring charts, alongside Harry Kane, Alvaro Morata, Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus with eight goals, one behind leader, Mohamad Salah.

But despite the statistical evenness, Pogba reckons Lukaku is above his peers.

“It feels good when you come back and Romelu scores again? I like that, I like that,” Pogba told BBC Sport.

“No. We’ve got a lot of good players, a lot of talented players. We have to trust each other.

“Romelu is the best striker in the Premier League. We know his quality. We know everything. We don’t worry about him. And at the end, we see the result.”
