Reports from everyone’s favourite ‘Mr Ball’ claim that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wants to join Chelsea, and has instructed agent Jorge Mendes to sort out a move.
Notorious Spanish rumourmongers Don Balon claim the Portuguese icon has told president Florentino Perez that he is desperate to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the season, and he has set his sights on a return to the Premier League.
The report suggests that Ronaldo favours a move to London over a return to former club Manchester United, news that will come as a crushing blow to former manager Jose Mourinho…if true.
It is understood that Ronaldo believes his former club do not have the financial power to bring him back, but he is desperate to return to the Premier League.
Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid in recent seasons, but it remains to be seen whether any side has the financial fire power to lure the Portuguese superstar away from the Spanish capital.
The charismatic talisman has so far endured a difficult start to the Spanish league season, netting only once in seven league appearances. His goal drought has reflected in Real Madrid’s form overall, with the champions trailing rivals Barcelona by eight points after suffering two defeats in their opening eleven league fixtures.
They also slumped to an embarrassing 2-1 defeat to new boys Girona last month, with Ronaldo cutting a frustrated figure on more then one occasion this season.
Last month however, he led Portugal to automatic qualification for the World Cup in Russia, scoring eleven times during qualification.
