Loftus-Cheek, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace, made his debut on Friday night against Germany and went on to win the man of the match award.
Though Giggs was not surprised to have seen the youngster start during the game, he feels that manager Gareth Southgate made the wrong decision.
“I wouldn’t start him,” the former Wales winger said.
“Purely for the reason that he’s a young lad, he’s only played 20-odd games at first-class level.
“He was a breath of fresh of air, it’s nothing to do with his performance, he was brilliant.
“Making the right decisions, attacking players, but to do it against Germany and then get all the adulation over the weekend and then to do it again against Brazil is a big ask.
“But, like I said on Friday, England haven’t got many options in that department.”
