Chelsea closed the gap on Tottenham with a 1-0 win over Bournemouth to close out Saturday’s Premier League action.

A frustrating first half saw Alvaro Morata twice miss good chances before Eden Hazard took advantage of a slip in defence to beat Asmir Begovic at his near post for the only goal.

Earlier in the day, Anthony Martial’s late goal was enough to down Tottenham at Old Trafford as a tense game with little in the way of quality was separated by a David de Gea goal kick, Romelu Lukaku flick on and finish from the substitute nine minutes from time.

Spurs stay in third, a position they cannot move down from no matter the other weekend results, but United now boast 22 points after 10 games.

Crystal Palace remain rock-bottom of the Premier League table despite claiming a point at the death against West Ham.

Goals from Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew had seemed enough for Slaven Bilic’s team, but Wilfried Zaha’s stoppage time strike rescued a point for the Eagles.

Elsewhere, champions Chelsea take on Bournemouth on the south coast in Saturday’s late kick-off looking to close the gap on London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal.
