Antonio Conte is looking to keep Charly Musonda for the rest of the season and does not want him to leave on loan in January.

Standard Sport revealed this month Chelsea were considering sending the Belgium Under-21 international elsewhere in order for him to get regular first-team football.

But Conte believes Musonda has a lot to offer, especially with the senior side struggling with their intense fixture list this season.

The attacking midfielder’s future at Stamford Bridge looked in doubt two weeks ago after he posted an angry message on social media.

Musonda wrote on Instagram: “You sacrifice, you work hard, harder, you give more than what’s expected. And what do you get back? Literally nothing…done.”

It was assumed that Musonda was expressing his frustration towards Conte but that is not the case.

The Chelsea coach has consistently spoken about Musonda having a big future at the club. Conte did, however, warn Musonda about his social media activity but named the academy graduate in the squad for the next match against Crystal Palace and used him as a substitute.

Musonda has already made four appearances this term, although only one of them was a start — against Nottingham Forest in the third round of the Carabao Cup. He scored his first goal for the club in a 5-1 victory.

Conte has also earmarked him to start against Everton in their fourth-round tie at on Wednesday. Chelsea have already held discussions about a new contract as his deal expires  in 2019.
