Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has welcomed the fans’ new chant for him.

Morata hit a hat-trick in victory at Stoke City on Saturday.

Blues fans came up with a new song for their £60million summer signing following claims their previous chant was anti-semitic.

The new chant’s lyrics are: “Alvaro. Alvaro. He comes from sunny Spain, he’s better than Harry Kane.”

And Chelsea‘s head of communications Steve Atkins claimed Morata was pleased to hear the new song from the away end.

“We spoke to Alvaro after the game, he was grateful too that they changed it,” he said.

And Antonio Conte was equally pleased the fans had listened to the club and striker’s wishes, adding: “It was great, I’m pleased for this.”
