Leicester City host reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea on Saturday afternoon as they look to pick up much needed points after finding themselves in 15th position, following just one win from their opening three games of the season.

Chelsea’s form is on an upward trend since their disappointing opening day performance versus Burnley and Antonio Conte will be in search of yet another victory in his mission to advance up the table.

Since that encounter, the Blues currently sit in 6th position after beating both Tottenham and Everton.

  • Courtois

The ever present Thibaut Courtois will of course continue in goal against Leicester hoping for a second successive clean sheet.

  • Azpilicueta

  • Luiz

  • Rüdiger

Undoubtedly Cesar Azpilicueta and David Luiz will play as part of Chelsea’s back three after already starting all three games this season.

Antonio Rudiger looks set to make his third start since his arrival from AS Roma for £34m, although the German has started shakily he steps in whilst Gary Cahill remains sidelined due to suspension.

  • Moses

  • Kanté

  • Fábregas

  • Alonso

A central midfield pairing of N’Golo Kante and Cesc Fabregas will thrive versus Leicester, last season’s PFA Player of the Year will sit back and cover the defensive three as he does week in week out while Fabregas’ array of passing will cause problems for the Foxes who lack pace at the back.

Danny Drinkwater will find himself back at the King Power Stadium after sealing his move to Chelsea from Leicester, and could find himself appearing as a substitute against his former club for his debut.

Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso as always will be Chelsea’s starting wing-backs. The two pose more of an attacking threat than defensive stability, however against Christian Fuchs and Danny Simpson the Chelsea men will be expected to flourish by providing options in wide areas whilst the back three together with N’Golo Kante clear up in defence.

  • Willian

  • Morata

  • Pedro

Antonio Conte has the option to play his star man Eden Hazard who has come back from injury and has played minutes for the U-23’s. However, Pedro is likely to start ahead of the Belgian – who will probably start among the substitutes.

Willian and Morata will make up the front 3 alongside Pedro as they continue their fine form. Morata already has 2 goals and 2 assists to his name and Willian has looked rather lively and has been unlucky not to open his goal tally.

The pace and endeavour from these three forwards will cause huge problems for Leicester’s back line who have already leaked six goals so far this season – Chelsea will surely be able to open the flood gates on Saturday…
