Jurgen Klopp has refused to rise to Jose Mourinho’s latest comments about Liverpool.

Mourinho stated last week that both the Reds and Chelsea would find the Premier League more difficult this season as they will also have to contend with European football.

The Manchester United manager was at pains to point out that the pair played considerably fewer games than his side, who will be used to the excessive schedule.

The Portuguese insisted that this campaign would be “a little more balanced” in that regard, but Klopp was reluctant to join the argument.

“I’m not interested in what Jose Mourinho says. Why should I talk about Manchester United? Jose is talking about us, yes,” he said.

“We had a season of what Man United had the year before. I don’t know if anybody asked us how it felt.

“The Europa League was hard. Yes, Chelsea will feel also the difference, they played something like 13 players last season. But it’s also not my problem if they use only 11, well done. I do not want to be part of this – I am not interested.”
