The agent of Alvaro Morata has described Manchester United as a “very interesting option”.

United are thought to have identified Morata as their main transfer target this summer, with the club prioritising the purchase of an ‘out-and-out’ striker to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The club reportedly had a £52m bid rejected by Real Madrid for the forward, and have since returned with a £60m offer. Real are holding out for closer to £70m.

It was claimed on Monday that Chelsea could ‘gazump’ United’s bid for Morata, but the Spaniard has already agreed terms at Old Trafford.

Agent Juanma Lopez shed some more light on negotiations in an interview with

“They are a club of great charm, a very interesting option,” he said of United. “I can say there’s a very important proposal and the decision rests with Real. I cannot tell [if it will be done quickly], we’ll see.”

Along with United and Chelsea, AC Milan have been linked with the 24-year-old, but Lopez has seemingly ruled out a move to Italy.

“There have been frequent contacts [between us and AC Milan] until a few days ago, I can confirm that,” he said.

“Quite simply, Real Madrid considered the Rossoneri’s offer to be unsatisfactory.”
