Chelsea boss Antonio Conte believes his players are improving all the time after their 2-0 win at Southampton.

Goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa ensured they responded with a comfortable triumph to stay a point behind the top three.

Conte insisted: “In this moment it’s not important to look at the table.

“The most important thing is to work hard and trust the work. Now, game by game, I’m seeing a lot of positive things.

“I have confidence because we can improve a lot. We must continue to work, and not look at the table.

“It’s very difficult to talk about the championship now. Many games must pass before you can see whether you can fight for the title.

“When you start the second part of the season our ideas will be clearer. To stay close to first place is good, and gives us great confidence.”
