Ken Monkou is proud of his time with Chelsea.

Blues face another of Monkou’s former clubs, Southampton, today.

He told chelseafc.com: “People always ask me which club I feel closest to, and despite the fact I was at Southampton for over seven years, I have to say it’s Chelsea because they were my first club when I came to England.

“I was the first black man to win the club’s Player of the Year award and I also won a cup final at Wembley, so even though I have very fond memories of my time at Southampton and I’m still very close to the likes of Francis Benali and Matt Le Tissier, I feel closer to Chelsea.”
