Chelsea are interested in signing AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli
Antonio Conte is interested in bringing Romagnoli, 21, to Stamford Bridge despite paying £30m for David Luiz on transfer deadline day, according to The Sun.
The Serie A outfit snubbed Chelsea‘s £35m bid for their talented centre-back in August.
But that hasn’t stopped the fiery Italian manager, who is prepared to meet AC Milan’s £49m valuation in January.

“I am happy at AC Milan and in Italy”
Chelsea transfer target Alessio Romagnoli
However, Romagnoli has again distanced himself from a move to West London after declaring he’s happy where he is.
Immediately after Milan’s 1-0 victory over Juventus on Saturday, he told Italian broadcaster Mediaset Premium: “I am happy at Milan and in Italy, so I hope to remain here.”
After Chelsea’s initial offer was rejected, Romagnoli said he was thrilled to stay and continue his development in his native Italy.
He told Mediaset: “The fact Chelsea came in for me is pleasing, but I’m glad I have stayed here.
“This pushes me on to grow even more and improve myself. I am happy to stay here. President Silvio Berlusconi made a big investment in me and that’s enormous.
“Milan are behind Juventus now, but I don’t think we are missing anything in particular. We just need to work together and grow as a unit.”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly looking for defensive signings
Romagnoli is considered one of Italy’s brightest prospects having made his international debut earlier this month during a 2018 World Cup qualification match against Spain.
He’s started eight of Milan’s nine Serie A fixtures this term, keeping an impressive four clean sheets in the process.
