The Frenchman suffered the sicking tear during the Blues’ clash with Manchester United in February.
It’s taken a long time, and Zouma missed the chance to represent France at a home European Championships, but he’s finally back in the blue shirt.
“Zouma came back to training with the Under-21s this week”
Zouma lined up for the club’s under-23s side as they took on their Derby County counterparts at Aldershot in Premier League 2.
However, it didn’t go completely to plan for the 21-year-old as he gave away a penalty that lead to the Rams’ opener as they led 1-0 at half time.
Zouma was not expected to complete the full 90 minutes and he was withdrawn after 45.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte revealed that Zouma was close to training with the first team ahead of their 4-0 demolition of Manchester United at the weekend.
He said: “Zouma came back to training with the Under-21s this week, next week I want him to join us.”
While the centre back will be disappointed to have given away a penalty he will be over the moon to have come through tonight’s game unscathed.
The young Blues are in action again on Saturday evening as they tackle Feyenoord’s second team in the Premier League International Cup.
