Batshuayi signed for the Blues from French side Marseille last month, penning a five-year deal with the club.

Since making the move the 22-year-old has looked in imperious form and netted twice in his second game – the 8-0 win over Austrian side Atus Ferlach.

And team-mate Matic is confident the young Belgian will bag goals in the Premier League, which kicks off on August 13.

“He has quality of course and he is welcome because he is a great player,” Matic said.

“I hope that he is going to bring quality to our team, they are going to improve with us and that’s it.

“Yes, he is a good striker and that’s why Chelsea bought him and I am sure he will bring quality to our team and I am sure he will score a lot of goals.”

Batshuayi was part of Marc Wilmot’s Belgium side at Euro 2016 but made just two appearances, scoring one goal.

He was much more prolific last term for Marseille, however, and bagged 17 goals in 36 Ligue 1 appearances.
