Sarri has given himself some well needed breathing space after his Chelsea side beat Spurs at the Bridge last night. Sarri regained some of the trust back from the chelsea fans after an impressive display in the Carabao Cup Final, only to be undone by Kepa’s stupid act of refusal during the clash. The situation stole the headlines and mounted more pressure on the Italian for the fixture against Tottenham Hotspur.
Sarri did not include Kepa in his starting line up, opting with Willy Caballero and rightly so. Sarri’s set up on the night worked great against Spurs and his team were awarded for their hard work and persistance with a goal in the second half.
Kieran Trippier gave the Chelsea fans something to laugh about in the last 10 minutes of the fixture, when his shocking back pass completely went past Hugo Lloris and trickled into the back of the net. At 2-0 the game was well out of sight for Spurs.
Spurs did not look at their best with an uninspired and tired performance to the delight of the Chelsea fans, who once again have ruined their title hopes.
Up next for Chelsea is an away trip to West London rivals Fulham, where they will be expected to pick up all three points against a poor Fulham side.
