The Premier league season got underway this weekend with some great performances already. Chelsea got off to winning ways with their new look outfit and manager against Huddersfield

Sarri looked to get his new additions straight into the thick of the premier league action. Jorginho, who looked very solid in pre-season maintained this form against Huddersfield, was able to get on the score sheet after converting a penalty in the 45th minute.

Probably the most promising aspect of the Chelsea game was Jorginho and Kante’s chemistry, which seemed reminiscent of when Kante and Matic used to line up with each other during Chelsea’s Premier League winning season. Jorginho being a similar player to Kante, was able to distribute the ball well across the pitch, giving the attacking players a licence to roam knowing they were covered at the back. But Kante was also able to push forward more than he has been able to do previously, resulting in Kante also getting on the score sheet in the 34th minute.

Pedro, who recently extended his contract at Chelsea for another year was able to cap off a solid performance by Chelsea by scoring their third goal in the 80th minute. Overall fans will be happy and whilst Huddersfield are by no means a top six team, last season they were able to take a lot of points off of the top six teams, so are by no means an easy three points. Sarri will be pleased I imagine, hopefully this winning form continues.
