Antonio Conte believes Chelsea were in “total control” against Leicester and should have beaten the Foxes by a bigger margin on Saturday.

Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for the champions four minutes before the break with his superb header before N’Golo Kante struck against his former side in the second half.

Despite Jamie Vardy scoring from the penalty spot following Thibaut Courtois’ foul on him in the area, Chelsea held back a spirited Leicester side to claim all three points at the King Power Stadium with a 2-1 win

Conte was pleased to see his players return from the international break in such form, and said his team should have scored more goals to put the game out of sight for Leicester.

Speaking to Match of the Day, the Italian said: “We must be delighted because we had a good performance. We played very well. We were in total control and could have scored more goals.

“After the penalty it changed the situation. They tried to push but despite this we had chances to improve the score. It is a good result and a good performance. After the international break it is not easy.

“I am happy for N’Golo (Kante). He performed very well but this is not news.”
