Cesc Fàbregas is undoubtedly one of the most talented midfielders in Europe. Making his name at Arsenal as a 16-year-old, Fàbregas has shown that class is permanent with an outrageous assist in Chelsea training.
Although you’d have to ask questions of the marking here, Fàbregas’ ability to pick out this chipped pass with his heel is just incredible.
The World Cup winning midfielder played in 37 games for the Blues last season, often as a substitute, scoring seven goals and registering 13 assists in all senior competitions. With an ability to play anywhere in the centre of midfield, Fàbregas is only ever criticised for his lack of pace.
Fear not though Chelsea fans, as Fàbregas showed it’s just as much about intelligence as it is speed. In a challenge with Willian and Pedro, Fàbregas beat the two pacey wingers in a game that appears to be all about who can run the fastest.
Chelsea fans will be hoping Fàbregas can replicate some of this pre-season skill when the sides reconvene for the Premier League season.
The Spaniard will be facing up against his old team Arsenal three times over the course of two months, with a friendly game scheduled in the next fortnight followed by a Community Shield clash at Wembley and the first league game between the London rivals taking place at Stamford Bridge on September 17.
