Michy Batshuayi appears to have dropped a hint over his Chelsea future after various reports linked him with a transfer away from the Premier League champions.
The striker was utilised primarily as a substitute during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge and, despite scoring the crucial goal that landed the Blues the English top flight title last term, had been tipped to depart London over a lack of game time.
However, Batshuayi has seemingly put in pin in those rumours – literally – as the ‘king of Twitter banter’ took to his social media account to post a video that gave a good indication of who he’d be playing for in 2017/18.
Big things had been expected of the Belgium international after he completed a £33m move from Marseille last summer but, thanks to the form of Diego Costa – himself now heading for the Chelsea exit – found starts hard to come by.
It was form that left Batshuayi with just 29 appearances in all competitions, with a paltry eight of those coming from the start, and led to widespread speculation that the 25-year-old would walk away from Chelsea at the end of last season.
West Ham United and Everton, as well as a possible return to France with Marseille, were linked with moves for Batshuayi heading into the close season, but it would now seem that the forward wants to remain a part of Antonio Conte’s squad and fight for his place in the team.

First-team opportunities may be easier to come by for Batshuayi next season too. Costa’s Blues career appears to be over after Conte informed him that he was no longer part of his plans for 17/18, while fellow attackers Dominic Solanke and Tammy Abraham have joined Liverpool and Swansea permanently and on loan respectively.
Batshuayi will hold out hope that many more minutes are available to him on the pitch in the next 12 months as he eyes a place in Belgium’s 23-man squad for next summer’s World Cup in Russia, providing the Red Devils qualify.
