• Chelsea Offered the Chance to Sign £70m Dortmund Superstar as They Move on From Lukaku Debacle

    News Tue 11 Jul 2017

Chelsea have supposedly been offered the chance to sign Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Aubameyang, as the club attempt to quickly move on from the Romelu Lukaku debacle.

The Blues are currently licking their wounds after missing out on the former Everton striker, who looked set to rejoin the Stamford Bridge outfit only a week ago.

Manchester United’s talks with Alvaro Morata fell through, but they were able to act fast and swiped the Belgian from under the noses of their Premier League rivals.

But Kaveh Solhekol claimed on Sky Sports News, via the Express, that Chelsea could still sign a top forward this transfer window, because they have been offered the opportunity to sign Dortmund’s Aubameyang, who finished as the top scorer in the Bundesliga last season.

The German club are apparently not too fussed where the Gabon international goes (except domestic rivals Bayern Munich) as long as they receive a massive fee for him.

The fee they would like is £70m, which Chelsea would be able to afford given they matched United’s offer of £75m for Lukaku as they desperately tried to secure his services.

The Blues have also been touted to go for Real Madrid striker Morata, with the Spanish hitman dead-set on leaving for regular first team football.

The centre-forward position has now become a high priority for Antonio Conte, with Diego Costa expected to leave to return to his old club Atletico Madrid, and Lukaku officially off the market.
