After a title winning season, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has gifted his players Hublot watches to commemorate their Premier League winning season – although not even close to the level of Leicester’s owners £100,000 cars, they still seem pretty snazzy looking.
Senior players, Willian and Chalobah revealed the gifts on their social media platforms, but as a billionaire Abramovich could have delved deeper into his pocket than simply leaning on one of the club’s sponsors, but it’s the thought that counts right?
The watches are from the club’s sponsor and official ‘timekeeper’, Hublot, and each came in a personalised Chelsea branded box with a note from chairman Bruce Buck.
The note read: “On behalf of Mr Abramovich and also on behalf of the board of directors of the club, congratulations on creating history during the 2016/17 season.
“It’s been a campaign to remember. Keep the blue flag flying high.”

Although not explicitly showing the watches themselves, the details may not be too dissimilar from the club’s special edition line of timepieces with Hublot in which there are only 200 of the ‘Classic Fusion 45 Chelsea Football Club L.E.’
Those watches retail at £9,000 due to their polished titanium case, the leather strap, sapphire back and being 50 metres water-resistant, all inspired by the club’s colours.
Whether the gift is a hint that the first-team need to be more prompt is unreported, but it is sure to keep them timely as the start of the season nears closer.
