Chelsea are reportedly set to turn their attention to Torino striker Andrea Belotti after seemingly missing out on Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
Lukaku – Chelsea’s number one summer target – has been stolen away from the Premier League champions after the Blues failed to reach a deal with Everton.
Manchester United have swooped in out of nowhere and it seems as though the Belgian powerhouse is on his way to Old Trafford – United taking full advantage of Mino Raiola and good friend Paul Pogba to persuade the 24-year-old to make the switch.
Antonio Conte is said to be fuming at this drastic turn of events, but Chelsea have now set their sights on Torino’s Andrea Belotti, according to the Mirror.
The Italian who netted 32 goals last season will supposedly set the Blues back a whopping £90m – but Chelsea are in dire need of a replacement for Diego Costa, whom Conte had told was no longer wanted at Stamford Bridge (under the guise that he would be signing Lukaku this summer).
As well as Belotti, Chelsea are believed to be eyeing up moves for Arsenal’s want-away forward Alexis Sanchez and former Manchester United target Alvaro Morata.
Sanchez is believed to be unhappy at the Emirates Stadium after Arsenal failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League, and is searching for a way out in what could be a £50m switch.
Alternatively, Conte worked with Real Madrid’s Morata at Juventus in 2014, playing a strong role in bringing the Spanish striker to the club. The pair are believed to have a very good relationship, and Morata would welcome a reunion with the Italian manager after struggling for game time at the Bernabeu.
