In an exceptional turn of events Chelsea have made a last ditch move to salvage a deal for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku by sensationally offering to match Manchester United’s £75m bid – leaving the decision solely in the striker’s hands.
With a desperate need for a striker ahead of next season, Chelsea have seemingly caused Lukaku to think again just as he looked destined to join Jose Mourinho’s United.
The Telegraph report that the Blues will not match the agent fees Mino Raiola will obtain from Lukaku moving to Old Trafford, thus posing a serious deliberation for the 24-year-old who will have to go against his agent if he is re-join Chelsea this summer.
After first signing for Chelsea upon his arrival in English football, the Blues are of the belief that Lukaku has maintained his desire to make a move back to Stamford Bridge, and with the Red Devils bid being matched a a decision must now be made.

Seemingly either for sporting achievements or the money his ‘super’ agent Raiola will pick up.
With a medical with United scheduled for the Belgium international on Friday night in the United States, Chelsea are now reportedly waiting on the word of the striker to find out if their spectacular bid has caused a re-think for Lukaku.
However, despite the late move by the club who Lukaku obviously holds close to his heart, Manchester United remain confident that the 24-year-old will go ahead with the deal as planned in time to join Mourinho’s squad for their US tour – starting on Sunday.
