The 25-year-old is currently second choice at Real Madrid behind Dani Carvajal and his lack of game time has put Antonio Conte on high alert as he attempts to build a squad ready for his Premier League title defence next season.
Danilo signed from Porto in 2015 and since his arrival in Spain he had made 41 appearances for Madrid and has scored three goals. The Brazilian full-back played 17 times last season in La Liga with injuries to Carvajal keeping him on the sidelines. He also made three appearances in the Champions League – helping his side to a second consecutive win in the competition.
According to some reports Chelsea have already had a bid rejected by the Champions League winners but the Blues are now ready to increase their offer to bring Danilo to Stamford Bridge.
Danilo is supposedly reluctant to leave the Bernabeu and wants to fight for his place in the team. However, with Real Madrid wanting to sell the defender he could be forced into a move away – Danilo’s agents are said to be making their way to the Bernabeu to discuss the future of the defender at the club.
Chelsea are not the only interested party – Juventus are also keeping an eye on Danilo’s situation following Dani Alves’ exit from the Italian club. Conte himself was once keen on Alves but reports suggest that Manchester City will beat Chelsea to the signing.
