• Carlo Ancelotti Says That Robert Lewandowski Is 'Pleased' at Bayern Despite Agent's Comments

    News Sun 2 Jul 2017

A transfer frenzy has emerged in Germany, with Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski being the focal point after the striker’s agent claimed the Polish star was unhappy at the Allianz Arena.

Maik Barthel, Lewandowski’s representative, told Kicker that the 28-year-old was ‘disappointed’ that he did not receive enough ammunition in-front of the target from his teammates, although the club’s boss, Carlo Ancelotti – according to a report published by Goal – believes that the hit-man is indeed ‘pleased’ at the Bundesliga champions, cooling the rumours of a potential summer departure.

Lewandowski was pipped to the Golden Boot by Borussia Dortmund’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who scored 31 goals, by just one strike, an outcome which Bayern’s man supposedly found difficult to accept.

In-light of the number 9’s alleged discontent at the Bavarians, the Italian manager spoke to reporters on Sunday.

“Lewandowski has never complained to me, I finally congratulated him on his good season,

“I was satisfied with him and he was pleased with us.

“As always there are agents who talk too much – I do not know why. It is not the first time an agent has used the newspapers to say something wrong, that’s all. In a perfect world, agents do not talk.”

Lewandowski has surfaced as a proposed target of both Manchester United and Chelsea, speculation which has grown legs since it was alleged that the attacker was unhappy with his current employers.

Bayern have subsequently been pushed recently into warning any potential suitor vying for Lewandowski’s signature that they may run the ‘risk of being punished by FIFA’ if they were to pursue the target-man without their consent.
