Chelsea have officially announced their home and away kits for the upcoming 2017/18 season – available for purchase right away.

The new kit sees the club partner with Nike for the first time in their 112 year history, featuring the manufacturer’s Aeroswift Technology – a performance system that enhances breathability, mobility and speed.

Announced during their press release with Nike, the traditional Chelsea blue colour arrives on a contemporary and minimalist shirt that also boasts zoned ventilation panels, optimally-textured fabric to reduce clinging and lightweight construction throughout.

Incorporating a round neckline, the top shows ‘CHELSEA’ written in white knitting on the back of the neck, as well as ‘THE BLUES’ on the inside cuff of the right sleeve as well as ‘EST. 1905’ on the left.

The home strip is then completed by blue shorts to match and white socks.

Having won 18 trophies in the last two decades, Nike wanted to create an ode to the club’s title winning team, using the away kit to give a nod to their triumphs.

The full white look is complemented by a silver hue in order to “represent the club’s ever-growing collection of silverware’ along with ventilation stripes on the shorts and the same knitting on the neck and sleeves as the home strip.

The Chelsea blue is used as the secondary colour on this shirt; visible on the neckline, the ventilation stripes on the shorts and the block of colour on the socks.

Another feature to note is the use of ‘Nike-Grip’ technology in the socks (for both home and away kits), that is said to ensure a perfect boot-to-foot connection for any wearer.

Both kits are available to buy from nike.com/chelsea.
