Bournemouth are close to securing the £20m signing of Chelsea defender Nathan Ake, according to reports.
Ake impressed while on loan with the Cherries during the first half of the 2016-17 season, scoring three goals in 12 appearances before returning to Chelsea and helping the Blues win the Premier League title.
The Sun claim an £18m bid from Eddie Howe’s side was rejected last month, but they are now close to sealing the deal, with a source claiming the transfer should be a formality once Ake returns from his holiday.
The source said: “It should be done when the player gets back from his holiday next month.
“Others clubs have been taking a look at him, but Bournemouth look to be in pole position at present.”
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is said to be happy enough to move Ake on in his pursuit of Southampton centre-back Virgil van Dijk, while Juventus pair Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro have also been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge in a £100m deal.
Conte needs defensive reinforcements after John Terry, Chelsea’s former club captain who made over 700 appearances for the club, left following the conclusion of his contract.
Chelsea are also expected to secure a £35m deal for Monaco enforcer Tiemoue Bakayoko, leaving current midfielder Nemanja Matic free to explore the possibility of a reunion with former boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
Bakayoko was an integral part of the Monaco side that won Ligue 1 in France, while Matic partnered N’Golo Kante in Chelsea’s Premier League-winning midfield.
