• Aston Villa Make ‘Concrete’ Offer to John Terry Following Summer Departure From Chelsea

    News Wed 21 Jun 2017

Championship side Aston Villa have made Chelsea captain John Terry a concrete offer, according to the Telegraph‘s John Percy and Matt Law.

The former England international’s contract with the Premier League champions is set to run out at the end of the month, with the player previously confirming that last season would be his final as a Chelsea player.

The Telegraph also reports that Terry, who could call it quits altogether, has 10 realistic offers from all over the world at the moment. Bournemouth, West Brom, Swansea and Birmingham are all believed to be gunning for the 36-year-old, while clubs in China and the USA want to bring him in as well.

Villa, though, are said to have made significant steps in their pursuit of the defender over the last 24 hours. Their offer is reported as being very lucrative, also comprised by several bonuses and other incentives that would make the package worth at least £4m per year.

And Terry will likely make a decision on his future in the next two weeks.

The centre-back is poised for several offers in the coming days. And despite hinting he may retire during his emotional farewell speech at Stamford bridge on the last day of the season, the legendary hard man is also happy to continue playing.

Blues fans would love it if their captain would retire a one-club man, yet they certainly wouldn’t hold it against him of he decides to give the game a final shot before hanging up the boots.
