John Terry has prompted further speculation after following Everton striker Romelu Lukaku on Instagram.
The Blues have been routinely linked with their former forward so far this summer, and are believed to have identified him as their replacement for Diego Costa.
Chelsea signed Lukaku from Anderlecht in 2011 for around £20m, before sending the then youngster on loan to West Brom and Everton.
The powerful Belgian was particularly impressive for the latter, and Everton parted with £28m to sign him permanently in 2014.
Last season, Lukaku took his form to another level, scoring a prolific 25 goals in the Premier League.
Everton have set a value of £100m for their star striker, but that does not appear to have deterred Chelsea, now favourites to secure his signature.
And some Blues fans were left feeling full of anticipation when discovering that Terry, who left the club last season after 22 years of service, had followed Lukaku on Instagram.
It could mean very little, and it’s hardly confirmation of Lukaku’s signing. But there can be no doubt that Chelsea fans are keen to be reunited with their former striker after his emphatic performances for Everton in recent years.
