Domenico Berardi is the subject of an offer from a foreign club, according to Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali.
The highly-rated 22-year-old didn’t enjoy the best of season’s in 2016/17, and spent the majority of his time on the treatment table, but that hasn’t deterred the likes of Inter Milan and Roma.
Berardi has looked impressive since bursting onto the scene a few years ago, and has previously interested the likes of Juventus and Chelsea, and apparently, one unnamed club have lodged a bid for him.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, via Football Italia, Carnevali said: “There are a number of possibilities for Berardi. There is always this talk of Inter and Roma, today [Wednesday] we received an important opportunity for him from a foreign club.
“Our desire is to keep him, but we know that faced with certain offers – and based on what the player wants – it might be difficult to keep hold of him. These are evaluations we need to make with the player himself.”
Berardi is primarily a techincally gifted winger, but can also float inside and operate centrally if needs be. He has been widely tipped to break into the Italian senior squad before long, having represented the U19s and U21s.
