Major European clubs are on alert after Marco Verratti reportedly informed Paris Saint-Germain of his intention to leave.
Verratti has emerged as one of the continent’s most coveted playmakers in recent years, starring in four Ligue Un title victories in five seasons since moving to PSG in 2012.
But according to French newspaper L’Equipe, the midfielder has told the French club that he wishes to leave this summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea have previously been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who we tipped as a player who could potentially become the first to break the £100m barrier.
It is Barcelona who lead the race to sign him however, while Juventus are also considered as frontrunners for his signature.
