Several clubs are believed to have been alerted to his potential availability, with Bournemouth and Swansea reportedly favourites to secure a loan deal.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe has experience of negotiating with Chelsea having signed defender Nathan Ake on loan last season and recently purchased goalkeeper Asmir Begovic for £6m.

Swansea manager Paul Clement, meanwhile, is also said to be interested after monitoring Baker’s progress in the Chelsea academy while working as a coach at the club.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly keen for Baker to go out on loan again after the success of his spell with Vitesse.

Newcastle have also been linked with a move for Baker, who has made just one first team appearance in a Chelsea shirt.

He recently told Goal: “Overall I think Chelsea are happy with what I did. There’s still aspects of my game that I could carry on working on. I need to keep working day-in-day-out. The past two years that I have been away on loan have been fantastic.

“The achievements I have made have been unforgettable but we need to just carry on now and keep going as far as possible in my career.

“My family are just as cheerful as me. They were at all my games, they were there in the final so they come every step with me.’
