West Ham United will be on the hunt for a new goal machine by the start of the imminent 2017-18 Premier League season, after a lacklustre debut campaign at the London Stadium last term.
The Hammers may not have to look very far geographically, however, with the Mirror reporting that Chelsea’s Bertrand Traore has been touted for a potential move across the capital to Slaven Bilic’s squad.
The explosive 21-year-old striker spent last year on loan with Europa League finalists Ajax, and West Ham are said to be interested in luring the attacker on loan themselves for the coming campaign.
The Stratford-based outfit are also supposedly prepared to lodge a bid to secure his services permanently, if the Premier League champions are willing to allow their £17m-rated hitman exit Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Traore – a Burkina Faso international – scored 14 times in 43 appearances during his temporary spell at the Amsterdam Arena.
There will be stern competition in the race to acquire his sought-after signature, though, as Everton have also emerged as a potential destination for the impressive young striker.
With Romelu Lukaku being paraded as a possible target for the Blues in the summer, the Toffees will allegedly use Traore as a makeweight in any proposed deal if the imposing Belgian target-man is to depart Goodison Park for his former employers in the coming weeks.
