Fiorentina star Federico Bernardeschi has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League, with the player rumoured to have been interesting both Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, as reported by Forza Italian Football, it is now newly-monied Inter who are favourites to sign the young star. Juventus are also rumoured to be interested in the 23-year-old, but they are thought to be someway behind the Nerrazzuri for his signature.
It is also thought that Stevan Jovetic, a former Fiorentina player, could be included in a swap deal to secure Bernardeschi, and that this has resulted in Inter leapfrogging the rest of the competition.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has already met with the player’s agent in Milan, Bepe Bozzo, to discuss the deal.
Despite Bernardeschi’s fantastic individual campaign, in which he scored 14 goals and notched up five assists this season, Fiorentina finished a disappointing eighth in Serie A.
Able to play as a winger or a central forward, Chelsea and Manchester United had been rumoured to be willing to offer as much as £35m for the Italian, who has seven caps for the national team.
