AC Milan are keen on signing Chelsea’s Diego Costa this summer as the Italians begin to rebuild their once world-beating side.
The Rossoneri have started the summer transfer window off at blistering speed, having already tied down Mateo Mussachio from Villareal as well as Atalanta’s Franck Kessie.
But now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are in the hunt for Chelsea’s Diego Costa in order to bulk up their attacking options.
After also being linked with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele, it appears as though the Spanish forward is Milan’s number one priority before next season starts.
The news arrives only days after Atletico Madrid’s transfer embargo was upheld – with the Spanish outfit reportedly interested in signing Chelsea’s first string striker. Instead, Diego Simeone will be forced to wait until January to sign the 28-year-old as Chelsea attempt to tie him down to a new contract.
However, AC Milan are now said to be in the hunt for his signature with previous target Alvaro Morata snubbing a move back to Serie A after Real Madrid’s Champions League victory over Juventus.
According to Di Marzio, Milan have asked for information on Costa’s availability and are monitoring the situation.
Perhaps Chelsea could go for Morata if Costa is to leave Stamford Bridge – Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been previously linked with the Real Madrid striker, who has largely impressed at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
