Arsenal superstar Alexis Sanchez is reportedly keen on forcing through a move to a Premier League club, with Chelsea and Manchester City both keen on the Chilean forward.
That is according to the Daily Mail, with the Gunners man said to be keen on signing for an English club that will compete for major honours.
Arsene Wenger remains adamant that both he and Mesut Ozil – who both have only one year left on their current deals – will not be leaving the club in the summer. However, fans and neutrals remain understandably dubious.
Gunners fans will be happy to know that PSG have pulled out of the race for Sanchez as they are unwilling to match his desired wages, per Le Parisien, via GFFN.
The French giants are keen to bolster their squad in the summer but will now have to switch their attention to Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Bayern Munich, named by some of the favourites to land Sanchez should he move, apparently believe they have a significant chance of obtaining the Chilean and according to the Mirror, the Bavarian club believe they are in pole position.
Arturo Vidal has reportedly urged his international colleague to move to Munich and they believe they can acquire his signature despite Arsenal supposedly offering the Chilean £275,000-a-week – a figure Bayern cannot match.
The debacle surrounding the Chilean’s future looks set to engulf a large part of the narrative during the transfer window.
Wenger is desperate not to lose his talisman, who scored 30 goals in all competitions and appears to be pulling out all the stops in order to maintain his services.
Sanchez has thrived in the Premier League in recent years and remaining in England could be his prerogative. Whether he’s playing for Arsenal is another matter.
