UNITED AND INTER WAY OFF OVER PERSIC
Manchester United and Inter Milan are around £15million apart in negotiations over a deal for Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia winger has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months, and though The Independent reports United is Perisic’s preferred destination, it is claimed the two clubs are way off an agreement.
United aren’t dealing with a club that needs the cash. Selling Perisic might offset some off their own spending this summer, but Inter are only open to selling the 26-year-old if the fee makes it worthwhile.
Miguel Delaney’s story says United may look towards other options, with Willian also a target, though Jose Mourinho appears to be p*ssing in the wind there. Bayern Munich also want the Chelsea workhorse.
If/when United sign a wide forward then they are likely to be more receptive to bids for Anthony Martial. Apparently, he’s ‘officially not for sale’ but a hefty bid could change that.
TOTTENHAM FEAR RED ROSE
Tottenham are said to be ‘bracing themselves’ to lose Danny Rose this summer, with Manchester United in pole position for the left-back.
Rose is understood to be up for a return north, with Mourinho keen to offer the former Leeds United academy player exactly that.
Mourinho is supposedly in the market for a left-back – in addition to at least 10 other positions, seemingly – and Rose would likely double his money should he switch to Old Trafford. The 26-year-old has also spoken of the reasons Spurs could struggle to keep some of their best players, which may have rung a few alarm bells at White Hart Lane.
City are also keen on Rose though their top left-back target is Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy. Pep Guardiola also wants Kyle Walker, which could mean Spurs would lose both of their first-choice full-backs.
To remedy that somewhat, The Times claims Pochettino wants Fulham teenager Ryan Sessegnon, who has been doing ridiculous things in the Championship. It is also reported that Spurs have reached an agreement with Istanbul Basaksehir to sign the wonderfully-named 19-year-old striker Cengiz Under.
