Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly ready to break the transfer world record for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
The Daily Telegraph claims that Conte has asked Chelsea to pay the full £100m asking price for the Belgian, having identified him to replace Diego Costa.
Lukaku is described as ‘Conte’s number one target’, despite protracted moves for Tiemoue Bakayoko, Antonio Rudiger and Alex Sandro. So far, only Manchester City reserve goalkeeper Willy Caballero has arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer.
According to the Telegraph: ‘Everton have valued Lukaku at £100m, insisting they will not accept any less, but that has not scared off Conte who has made it clear to Chelsea that he wants the player at any cost.’
Manchester United are also interested in Lukaku, but he is a lifelong Chelsea fan and has a point to prove after being sold by Jose Mourinho.

Everton are expected to target Olivier Giroud as his replacement, with reports of a £20m move for the Frenchman.
