Liverpool legend John Aldridge insists they can upset Chelsea tonight.

He wrote for the Liverpool Echo: “We are – or at least we should be – wounded animals. We’ve had three significant blows in the last week, and the critics are all over us.

“But wounded animals can do one of two things. They can lie down and play dead, or they can fight back.

“I expect us to do the latter.

Chelsea will come with a plan. Conte is a cracking manager and he knows that a draw is a good result for his team at Anfield. I expect them to do what other sides have done, sit and contain and look to play us on the break.

‘It’s up to us to show that we’ve learned from past errors. Our struggles this season have generally been against lower teams, we’ve performed well against the top sides.”
