Antonio Conte introduced a 3-4-3 set-up in the wake of Chelsea’s embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in September.
Ever since that tactical change, the Blues have been irresistible, winning 12 Premier League games in a row to secure an impressive lead at the top of the table.
Costa, who has scored 13 league goals already this season, says the switch in system hasn’t had a major affect on his game.
“The new formation hasn’t changed anything for me personally”

But he is delighted that the rest of the team have adapted to it so well.
He told the club’s website: “The new formation hasn’t changed anything for me personally.
“If anything it has meant a change for some of the other players who are playing slightly different positions, with different roles.
“All in all, it’s clearly working really well for the team.”
As well as his impressive goals tally this season, Costa has also provided five league assists.
The 28-year-old Spaniard says he is eager to carry on setting up his team-mate.
He added: “I am here to score goals and that’s what I need to keep doing. That hasn’t changed.
“I’ve always given assists, even in previous teams, and I am very happy that I have been able to help my team-mates so much this year.
“It’s something I will carry on doing.”
Chelsea face Stoke at Stamford Bridge later today before they take on Tottenham at White Hart Lane on January 4.
