Last season already seems like a long way away for Chelsea’s players, staff and supporters.
The Blues, who were defending champions last term after winning the Premier League in 2014/15, suffered a nightmare of a season as they finished 10th in England’s top tier during the 2015/16 campaign.
A whole host of Chelsea’s stars failed to perform at their best levels on a consistent basis, including 2015 summer signing Pedro.
The ex-Barcelona forward was derided for his abject showings for the Londoners during his maiden season in England but, under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte, has been a revelation so far this season.
So good has the Spain international’s form been, in fact, that he has already been involved in as many goals this term as he was throughtout the entirety of 2015/16:
He may have cost Chelsea around £23m 18 months ago, but it is only now that Blues fans are seeing the best of the diminutive attacker’s undoubted qualities. It’s been a long time coming, but he’s certainly one of Conte’s first names on the team sheet these days!
